Brazilian fund Patria acquires Mega Frío, part of the Red Megacentro group
.SHAREAdvised by Barros Silva Varela & Vigil, the Brazilian fund Patria Investments, through the cold storage company IceStar, signed an agreement for the purchase of Mega Frío, which belongs to the holding Red Megacentro, a leader in industrial real estate rentals.
Mega Frio is an integrated logistics operator specialising in the cold chain of food products, offering a full spectrum of services for the handling of frozen and refrigerated food products (including cold storage and cold transport).
The completion of the transaction is subject to the fulfilment of certain conditions, which are pending, including, among others, the approval by the Fiscalía Nacional Económica (FNE).
According to IceStar CEO Francisco Moura, " this agreement is an important step, which strengthens our company's position and contributes to our goal of contributing to the development of cold logistics solutions. We want to be recognised as a reliable partner of the food industry and companies in the task of storing and handling temperature-controlled products".
