Felipe Riesco is appointed by the Senate as a member of the Expert Committee for the SEIA reform.

The Environmental and National Assets Commission of the Chilean Senate decided to create an Ad-Hoc Expert Committee with the purpose of providing proposals to the Executive and the senators of the Commission regarding a potential replacement of the Evaluation Commissions responsible for assessing the projects and activities submitted to the Environmental Impact Assessment System.

This Committee will consist of 5 experts appointed by the Senate, and their work will be coordinated by the Ministry of the Environment to develop proposals related to Article 86 of Law No. 19,300.

This bill (Bulletin No. 16552-12) seeks to amend various legal bodies in order to strengthen environmental institutions and improve their efficiency.
